Questions and Answers
Answers to the most common questions about process offset inks
Can the standard CMYK be used for food packaging?
The standard series is suitable for secondary food packaging where there are no migration or odor requirements — for example, the outer side of a cardboard box. For primary packaging or where controlled migration requirements apply, the food-grade series must be used.
Which varnishes are compatible with both series?
Both series are compatible with water-based and UV varnishes. For the food-grade series, special varnishes with low residual odor and controlled migration are recommended — both water-based (gloss/matte) and plant-based varnishes.
Do these inks comply with PPWR 2026 requirements?
Yes. Both series meet current requirements for PFAS (≤25 ppb) and heavy metals (≤100 mg/kg) under the new PPWR regulation (EU 2025/40), which takes effect on August 12, 2026.
